Description of Konica Minolta Autofocus 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 APO Lens for Maxxum SLR Cameras100-300mm auto focus, zoom lens for Minolta cameras The Konica Minolta AF 100-300 mm f4.5-5.6(D) APO provides excellent operation for auto and manual focusing. The focus-hold button allows for stopping AF drive and releasing the shutter at the desired position. The button can also be customized to provide different functions such as continuous autofocus or central sensor selection (when the lens is attached to a camera body with Custom Functions). In manual focusing, the wide ring is easy to control, and rotates smoothly. The two low-dispersion AD (anomalous dispersion) glass elements correct the chromatic aberrations that plague telephoto lenses. The Minolta Maxxum Autofocus Lens System is one of the world's most complete lens systems, covering every kind of lens from wide angle, telephoto, and wide-range zooms to large-aperture, reflex, and soft-focus types. Only Minolta Maxxum AF lenses are expressly made to link perfectly with your Minolta Maxxum AF SLR. Every Maxxum AF lens locks into your Minolta camera to form an integrated unit that allows focus and exposure data to flow from the lens' read-only memory (ROM) integrated circuit to the camera's central processing unit. Each Maxxum AF lens is a product of Minolta's advanced computer-assisted optical design. Minolta is one of the few camera makers to insist on making its own optical glass.
